During my weekend travels.....

This past Saturday found me spending some quality "Daddy - Daughter Time" with my 12 year old. We went to the mall and out to lunch and ran some other errands. On our way home I wanted to stop off and see an old gas station/general store that has been out of operation for years now.

Here's what we found:

That is really cool. You know those gas pumps kind of remind me of those bomb pop popsicles painted like that.

I have known that there were pumps still there for a few years but hadn't seen them in a long, long time. The last time I saw them in passing they were completely covered in surface rust and not painted up like a popsicle!

Did you ask if they are for sale? Those are Martin and Schwartz 80 Cyclops pumps, not super valuable, 400-450 up around me, but easy to restore and look great when done in "Traditional" pump colors..

Nope, I sure didn't. There wasn't anybody around. I'm tempted to swing by again sometime and do some asking around.

I almost think that they have probably been hit up a lot about them and they might be the type that would never sell even for a hefty sum. The kind of folks that would rather see something sit and rot.
