hi there, I have had some pretty easy issues with this machine, caused mostly by me, but I when I got it the florescent lights were not working right.

1 was on, and the other blown.  I put a new bulb in, and the same one blew.

Do i need new starters, and ballasts, and everything?
Has anyone tried the new replacement sets of led's they sell?

I think I seen it is like 25 to get new parts for the lights, but the newer technology ones are like 100 on ebay.

Hi,

Most machines sign with florescent lamps will share a common ballast and starter.  So if only on sign lamp is blowing it could be the  ballast, wiring  or possible the lamp socket. For $25 in parts I would replace everything the ballast being the biggest part of that cost. I'm all for new technology when it makes a difference,  but with the average life a florescent lamps and their cost it would take a very long time to go through $75  worth  of lamps  and if they are brighter or dimmer then the florescent lamps it may change the look of the sign.  .....Just my 2 cents worth....

Also, if you don't have a manual for you machine you can get one for $14.95 @ http://www.colamachines.com/xcart/home.php?cat=399
It's a PDf download I think they are worth it I ordered one for my machine.

Heres a good site if you want to learn more about how florescent light work

Thank you for you info, and I think you are right.  I'll just put new parts in, they are cheap, and probably will last me for a long time indoors.

Hello, it has been a long time, but I want to fix this machine.  Is there an easy way to just use LED strips or something now in place of the ballast and florescent?

Thank you

I used a green LED tube light set behind selection rack and green neon under machine.
