Found this 7up cooler http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-1950s-Vintage-Electric-7up-Soda-Pop-Cooler-Machine-/250626095653?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a5a7aba25 on ebay. Anybody know when these were made and if they are worth anything? The starting bid is $550 which seems high even for something this rare.

It also looks like it was set up as a coin cooler with vending mechanism. Only I can't tell where the coin mech would have been

This looks like the Lacrosse 15 in the SMC database.. http://soda-machines.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=386&Itemid=14

It would be nice to get some more info on this one to complete the database. Someone here needs that machine

As Ken stated, it appears to be a LaCrosse 15 but may be missing the vending coin mech which would be inside toward the front where the empty space is. These coolers don't pop up frequently so finding the coin/vend mech could pose a problem.

I picked-up one last year locally on CL. Missing the innards, done up with Sundrop decals over yellow paint.
Mine has a original cap catcher hanging front and center though.

Good observation SIGNGUY! I'm in Green Bay. I don't get up your way too often but I never know where a lead for a machine will take me.You better mark your territory heavily up there.  laugh  I  just missed that $50.00 Vendo 63 or Cav.64 ,can't remember for sure, in Wausau a few months back.  darn  Did you see that one?

That LaCrosse cooler was in Neenah and listed for quite awhile.I think he wanted 150.00 and I offered 75.00 and he took it.Solid but needs a total restoration.I found a pic I saved from his listing.

Yeah, I think so Pat, If I can find or have made to match the exact same decals. I thought about trying to tape them off and work around them but that's kinda cobby. The side decals are the tea cup with "Sun Drop" bottle cap layover and then "Golden Cola" spelled underneath kinda in the saucer. I guess a pic would help to visualize!
I don't know the real origins of Sun Drop,a little help maybe, and if someone knows about repopin' the decals?

Johnnyfizz  you need to get a hold of a graphic art's shop , one that you trust and get them to come out
and get the measurements and  pictures , That's what I do  .

That would be so sweet all finished up  Cool
