I bought this old Standard Oil sign off of ebay to hang on my garage since it had the same sign on it back in the late 60's.  What so I do to protect it outside so it doesn't rust away real fast?

is it porcelain or painted steel? I'd just suggest cleaning it up to your liking and then giving it a good coat of wax... then may want to do that every year or every other depending on your location and what kind of weather it gets exposed to?

Its painted steel, I live in central MN so it will get exposed to just about everything.
