Greetings,

I have a soft spot for Cavalier 72's and 96's and enjoy restoring them.

Has anybody ever noticed the wire that runs around the inside parameter of the front door?  This wire is held in place with tape and can be seen once the door insulation has been removed.  It appears to originate (from) and terminate (to) the electrical junction block in the lower front door.  If anybody can tell me why the wire is there and what function is serves, it would be appreciated  biggrin

I always thought it was some sort of heater wire but someone here may have a better answer.

       And welcome to the group.

As MoonDawg has stated, I agree, it is a heater strip to keep the door/rubber gasket from freezing ensuring a tight seal.

Welcome to SMC too ! ! !

My six cents,
