Vendo 63 freezing question
«

I just acquired a Vendo 63 and will be placing it on my non climate controlled screened porch. Is this machine insulated enough to not drop below freezing when the temperature in the porch gets below freezing? The porch can get in the mid 20s. I don't want the cokes to freeze inside it......Many thanks for all the help on this forum.......

Most likely.. I have a machine in my garage all year round and it survives the NJ winter temps..

Thanks. Does it get pretty cold in your garage? Below freezing you think?

this is a common question, the Vendo V63 it will be fine so long as it is plugged in & running, the inside evaporators air circulation fan produces enough heat (10-20watts) to prevent the sodas from freezing down to 10 degrees or so, although the compressor won't run as often of course, these machines were designed for outdoor use, unless otherwise stated on the specification / manufactures ID tag.
however if you unplug it, or you loose power to the machine, they will freeze, same goes if the evaporator fan stops running & the outside temp drops below freezing of course.

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!
The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p
Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor
11 is louder than 10...
"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

I had a few 5 gal buckets of water in my garage that froze into solid blocks of ice this year, so yeah, it gets cold. We aren't normally that cold though..

I've also seen guys run a light bulb inside the cabinet as well, like a 75 watt, and that gives off enough heat as well to keep it from freezing on the really cold days..
