I just acquired a VMC 144M Pepsi machine from the early 50's which cools great but has no bottle racking and part of the coin mech. is gone.  My question is this, if any one can help:

Since there are very little parts out there for any machine, can the VMC models be interchangeable, parts wise?  What is compatible with the VMC 144 regarding racking and coin mech. parts?

Joe,

I'm not sure what coin mech parts you need, but many of the manual coin mechs have parts that are interchangeable.  You'll have to be more specific or post a good photo of your coin gear...

As far as the vending rack is concerned, the only one that may be utilized is that of a Vendo 144...

My six cents,

Jim,

Do you have any manual coin mechs that you would be willing to sell for a good price?

I would appreciate any help.

Joe,
You say you have a VMC 144? I have a VMC 144 and it does not look like this one. Does your machine have an I.D. plate on it?

Hmm I agree, the picture in the top posting looks like Vendo 88/Pepsi to me , if so then I'm not too sure that the mech.s would be interchangable, although I Think that the Vendo 44 mech. is interchangable with the V 88. not too sure though. '<img'>

I am wrong. After looking at the very reliable archives on soda-machines.com I realize there were two models for the VMC-144. The one I have (VMC-144SA or "aotomatic) and the one in question here the VMC-144M or "manual" because of the manual dispensing lever. Wow! You learn something new everyday! Thanks Jim for a terrific website.
