I posted a tutorial awhile back showing how I converted a VF56 square-cornered machine from bottles to cans
So Johnnie - what you are saying is the tutorial shows the procedures for simply swapping out out bottle stack/shelves for can stack/shelves and not actually converting a bottle stack into a can stack by changing the mechanics of it. The latter is what it sounds like and what I think Glen thought you were saying.

My "tutorial" showed a SWAP out of a bottle rack & replacing it with a CAN rack, (you can't convert a bottle rack in these machines to vend cans)  Also be sure to get the back/rear mounting posts that go along with the can rack, as a can-rack sits way more forward into the bottle door area ( darn near flush actually) while a bottle rack sits back about 1-1/2" , you will also need a full set of can vending shelves to go along with it too ( the can rack) as bottle shelves wont work in a can machine.

"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Thats interesting... I've never had to change the back post.... Maybe going from cans to bottles doesn't need it?.. I've done both 56's and 63's putting in a bottle stack without trouble.
