Well, they look good.

Here's a couple of coolers I have.

I pick them up all the time, when the price is right.

I have the Double Dot Pepsi and a Seven Up. But I wouldn't mind getting a nice Grapette, Orange crush or Double Cola.
I am trying to stay with the Progress A1 line or similar size. Although I am always open to cool stuff.

I wouldn't mind seeing what you have in the Double Cola brand...I've developed an attachment to that brand as of late!  Used to drink it when I lived in Pensacola, FL.

Hi Ruben,

Would you mind sharing with us how you made the "other than Coke" airline coolers?

RC Kid...I actually lived in Milton, FL, which is outside Pensacola.  We didn't want to live right on the beach, and Milton was small enough not to be a rat-race at Spring Break and summer!  It was only 15 minutes to Pensacola, so that's where we spent all our time.  I was stationed at Hurlburt Field for 8 years.  I'm still in the Air Force, now living down on the edge of the earth in south Texas...but will likely be moving this summer.

Love your cooler collection as well!  Gives me good ideas how to display the few I have...

I have been to Hurlburt Field a couple of times.

I am stationed at Fort Bragg.

Good luck on your next move. May the area you move to be abundant with old soda machines and other cool stuff.

Thanks, Dave!  I'm hoping as well, but the chances aren't too good.  You can bet if I get orders there that my household goods will contain extra sliders and other machines that I'll have to find homes for over there!!   biggrin

RC Kid...I spent 6 years in Fayetteville/Cameron while stationed at Pope.  My wife's family is there in Moore County, so we go out there on occasion.  I'll let you know next trip!

I'm guessing Clovis, NM (Cannon AFB) is my best bet for the next assignment...but Hurlburt Field or Mildenhall, England aren't out of the question yet!

Drove through there a few years ago...not far from Billy The Kid's gravesite. If I remember correctly, there was an old 4-5 bay auto shop garage that somebody turned into some sort of personal museum. It was right off the main hwy through town (Hwy.60 - east side of town & south side of the road) and had some old cars on display as well as some soda machines, signs, pumps, etc. It was not open when we went through, but I could peek in all the windows.

ss540-its not hard if you do restoring -- i  had rotten out coolers so that what gave me the idea--i use a  a-2 model  and over cut the emboss lettering--and  cut out the airline--then use a  air flange die stamp--avaliable around here at your local harbour freight for around 25.00
it makes a lip below the surface - i than use a type of foam to create  a landing strip for the panel so it wont act like a drum in the middle i than use brazing rod to tack the edge down--you got to be careful to much heat and will warp alot-you can also use small rivets- then just did the body work and paint and chrome== your pump looks good in your pic that the other bad habit i have-i also buy and sell gas pumps

just remember has to be the embossing off a small cooler i think the a-1 have a bigger embossing--i might be wrong the a-2 and a-4  are the ones i will used  hope this helps thanks ruben

Hi Ken
Call me when you get a chance.

a4man
Sounds like youv'e got some nice stuff. I can't picture an A4 model? Superior Jr's are super cool, took me quite awhile to find one, and it wasn't cheap. I'm currently working on a fantasy piece, a Grapette airline cooler. I don't have any Grapette stuff for sale, I'm always looking to add to my collection though. Are you in CA? I could use a hand with a small item outside of San Diego in El Cajon.
  Best Regards

Thanks for sharing the procedure Ruben.  I will have to try that if I come across some suitable candidates.

I have some pumps that are available if you are interested.
