Anyone know anything about this pinball machine? It is local. The owner knows nothing about it. They are asking $225 for it. Are these worth anything? Are they fun to play? It looks like an odd pinball machine. Any ideas?

Flipperless Pins... Some are worth a pretty penny... I have a Rockola World series and would love the isster machine Jigsaw/World Fair... Mine are purely mechanical... That looks like some sort of Genco machine.. The outset of electro-mechanical... I'm sure you'd find it on the pinball database... Love my World Series...

I just did some research and it is made by Stoner Manufacturing Corp in 1939. Does anyone have a value book for Pinball machines?

The guide I have does not go back that far and doesn't list anything by Stoner.
What's it called?
Personally, I don't think it has much replay value (just my 2 cents).

It might be cool for the collection.The backglass looks interesting from what I can see of it.Some scuba diver?buried treasure? It might be animated with moving lights.bonus.I'm curious as to the name of the game. It looks to be printed on the top of the playfield.
More info!I'd lean towards gettin" it though.

That's a 1939 Stoner Mfg. "Davy Jones" Pinball Machine.
As far as being fun to play, If you are used to "regular" pinball machines with flippers and really enjoy them then the answer is probably, no.
If you really like pinball machines as a whole and enjoy the mechanics of them and the art then it could be fun to have and restore.
The only problem with the older woodrails is that there aren't a lot of parts available for the playfield and the backglasses aren't cheap to get either. A reproduction for games of that age run up into the $200-$300 realm.
If the playfield surface is trashed or missing to many parts, I would pass as well.
Can't tell from the pic but it looks like the legs are missing as well. Also, you want to check and see if the coin gear is there as well. It's also nice to get the game open and lift the playfield to make sure that it hasn't been canabalized or used as a parts machine.

Nice looking pinball machine! I think a woodrail pinball machine is rapidly moving up on my list of wants...flippers would be nice, but will have to see!
Like the others said, try it out and see if you like it! The pirate theme would be a big plus in my book...
