A dilemma on V90 Trim

Need your guy's help , I've start back working on my V90 , the clips that hold the trim on around the main door  I've have  15  clips that are broken so over at Funtronic Rod has the clips  at $2.00 = 30.00 OR there is buy the Adhesive Chrome Like Moulding 5/8 at $2.25 a ft @ 13ft = 29.25 .
Then has anybody used the  adhesive chrome moulding ? Pro's Con's  ?

Pat, I've used it before and it worked very well.  Easy to install, looked good and held up nicely.

I personally like the plastic. I have used it on several machines that I have done. Here are a few pics of how it turns out. Its easy to use and won't dent.

I think the plastic trim looks ok. Is your original trim in ok shape or would it need to be straightened/dents knocked out of it and then need to be polished? If so, that alone would cost you over $100 for the amount of trim that you have.

If the adhisive backed stuff was designed to work on a car that is exposed to all sorts of temps and adverse  road condtions, I think it'll be fine on your machine, can't wait to see the finished project!

I buy mine online at aftermarket auto parts places for a lot cheaper. You can buy it by the box and get it much cheaper by the foot but you will have enough to do a few machines.

You could get some small "christmas-tree" style trim fasteners from Autozone or ask around your local auto-body/collision shops, they have trays of Auveco trim fastners & they'd probably sell them to you cheeper than what you've found, also check out NAPA or other auto supply houses

I used the adhesive trim on the USC V90 machine. it worked and looked great!!

        I restored a 90 a few months ago where the trim was damaged. Bought some aluminum bar stock from Lowes, polished and cut it to fit. Used 3M adhesive and it worked great.

Ok Some questions for those that have used the Adheasive Trim how did you cut you ends ?
 and same question for you glen how did you cut your end ( and I like the looks of that Pepsi machine)  Straight across  or  /  .

And John that is what I'm going to do  thanks for the reminder Car quest is out they dont have those or any clips any more ,  but going to check Napa and the body shop.

 Brian I've been working on the trim for a while now and it is not bad looking, I'll post some pictures later on .

Pat,
It's real simple, the two top corners are cut on a 45 and the bottoms are cut at a 90. Just mark the the top piece with a sliding comb. square and trim to 45 degrees and do the same for the side pieces.
