Door Glass

I have a cavalier uss 10-80 that I am cleaning up a repairing to give my wife for Christmas.  My question is there are 3 pieces of glass in the door panel that are aprx 43 1/4" x 8 5/8".  The inside piece has a hole in the top and bottom.  The middle piece has the corners broke off.  I have tried to clean them, but what ever is on it will not come off.  Do I have to have glass cut to replace them or can I use plexi-glass?  Thanks

Have you tried CLR or Acetone to clean the glass? Don't get acetone on any paint or plastic. Plexi will scratch. If the glass won't clean or the cracked corners leak air best to have new cut. The holes are needed to reduce condensation. A search of old posts will help with the replacement process.

I think the opposite corners cut off on the middle glass is supposed to be there from what I have read. I will try acetone or clr and see what happens. Thanks

CLR should do the trick - a straight razor might aid too in getting up some of the crud.
If necessary, new glass is the way to go - brighter display and won't scratch easily.

Neither clr or acetone would clean it up.  Went to the local hardware store and they cut me 3 pieces of glass for around $30.  I asked about plexiglass and it is higher than glass. I was able to drill the holes myself and they cut the corners.  Not hard to reinstall.  Looks better now.  Now if my reman compressor deck will get here I will be in business.  Thanks
