Marquee Painting

Has anyone got a tips for painting the red on the backside of a plastic embossed pepsi cap marquee  - besides taking it to a sign shop - rather do my own work if I can.  The red that is currently on it is really faded.

I figured I would just mask it off into the design needed and use my small hobby airbrush...just not sure of what paint to use nor correct color...any suggestions there would help too.

I would use a pin striping tape to get the curve then tape it all off and call a sign/paint shop for what type of paint can be used for lighting... I think ACE sells a translucent paint but not sure they have red...I'm sure a sign shop could tell you exactly what you need.

For all the grief it would take,  I'd  set up an auto search on Ebay.
Eric is correct, you'd need  translucent, or glass paint, a steady hand and the ability to smoth out hte brush strokes

I used some model paint for a light up pepsi logo on my machine. I used Model Masters translucent red. My roommate bought it to paint some tail lights on his model car but it was not clear enough for that but it was perfect for what I needed. Also since it is model paint you should be able to airbrush it.
