I HAVE THIS TOP LOADING IDEAL 55A FOR A LONG TIME PICKED IT UP IN TUCSON AZ. . FROM KALIL BOTTLING COM. IN THE LATE 70'S . IT RUNS OK .IT HAS THE CAP REMOVER. AND CAP HOLDER ON THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE . THERE IS AN ATTACHED BRACE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE UNIT THAT I BELIEVE HELD A WATER FOUNTAIN  THERE IS A HOLE THAT GOES THRU THE RIGHT SIDE INTO THE MAIN CONPARTMENT.{THIS I'AM NOT SURE?) I ONLY PAID $50. FOR IT. IT HAD A LARGE DR.PEPPER STICKER OVER THE ROYAL CROWN EMBOSSING ON THE FRONT.WHICH I TRIED TO SAVE BUT IT CAME OFF IN TO MANY PIECES.  IT HAS THE ORIGINAL FREON COMPRESSER AND IT STILL RUNS GREAT. MY QUESTION IS WHAT MIGHT I EXPECT TO PAY TO GET THE UNIT RUNNING AT PEAK PERFORMANCE . BUT NOT RESTORING IT WITH PAINTING OR ANYTHING TO TO THE OUTSDE . IT'S JUST LOOKS SO GOOD THE WAY IT SITS .  THANK FOR ANY HELP.

Post a photo of it and we can see it..
As far as getting back to running? sounds like it cools correct? not sure from you post what parts your missing?  but if it cools and is displayable... then your more than half way there.

Like John staed. Pics are worth a thousand words. Does it have the "racks" inside etc?

       Nice cooler.

The brace you are referring to with the hole in it, was to hold the coin mechanism............. not a water fountain.

WHY SUCH A LARGE HOLE  1 INCH DIA. ? AND I BELIEVE IT NEVER HAD A SLIDER ASSEMBLY IN THE TOP. THERE ARE 6 SMALL SCREWS THAT RING THE INSIDE .

Trust us! It is missing the rack and mech, but still a good deal for $50!

be sure to save the original freon in a sealed glass jar, it will be worth it's weight in gold someday!  tounge

Just kidding, nice that it has a sealed system, looks like a good 'builder project..
