I acquired the stainless trim for vendo 81 and there is not any holes in the cabinet....now I want to ask my stupid question. How many screws should it take to attach all 4 pieices? Can someone help me with this and also tell me where I might find replacement screws. The ones I have are all rusty. I have looked at Lowes, Home Depot, local hardware store, etc and no one has ever seen them before. Also, if you could tell me is it:
1 or 2 screw for the small corner?
2 or 3 for each side piece?
4 for the longer piece?
Any help would be much appreciated.

If my memory serves me, 2 for the corner, two for each side, and four for the front...
My biggest concern would be that you get the correct measurements for the mounting holes in the cabinet and cabinet door!
Is this machine a small coin door machine (a or b)...?

According to the CC Refinishing manual, the separation point between white and red on an 81 should be 9 & 3/8" from the top.

Any ideas on how far in before I drill the holes? Is it 2 inches from each end (side pieces)? The small corner piece I guess is pretty obvious. What about the main door piece?I'm not sure it really matters, but I would like to at least be close. And thanks for everyone's help with this. I can't wait to finish this machine.  |

I doubt it really matters since they will be hidden - I say just evenly space them.

Does anyone have any ideas on where to find the T-screw or whatever it's called to attach the trim to the cabinet...I got the impression that Fun-Tronics doesn't carry them. I haven't actually spoke with them because I assume they are on the road.
And by the way...the local shop I am using pounded out some big dings and polished the trim to where it looks brand new. I couldn't be happier with it and only paid $55! I thought that was a very reasonable rate with great work. Can't beat that combination. My only regret is I forgot to take before pictures.

Not sure if you finished this project yet, but was just reading some older posts.. go to your local auto body store and ask about some auto body molding fasteners, they are a threaded screw and the head is an odd oval shaped piec with a wire protruding from it, it's made to put into the backside of the trim, for example your 81 trim, then you twist it and the edges lock behind the folded metal on the trim, and the wire peice holds int in place , you then have a stud to put throught the cabinet and put bolt to your machine,
I have some photos, email me and I'll try to post some photos of the screws/fasteners in question.
