Ok,  so I have this stoner 180 (I believe), by the way can anyone identify the model for me? I got the locks drilled.  The machine looks complete inside.  There is lots of candy dust inside. Whats the best way to clean this mess up?  There is a locking money box under the coin mechanism.  It also has a tubular lock.  Before I drill it also, does anyone know if I can get a key for it it?  It has more information on the lock that the other two had.  It states that  it is the Chicago Lock Co. with Ace imprinted in the middle and "NV 11" imprinted around the parimeter.  I need an operating manual so I can determine how to operate the machine.  The coin mechanism looks confusing to me. I believe it accepts quarters and dispenses change. I will try to attach photos but the size is an issue. Is it easy to remove the candy dispensing assembly and coin mechanism from the body of the machine? Give me some pointers people.  Thanks. Bob

Does it actually function correctly??? Put money in Pull Handle Flap fall down?

The Ace lock... There's a few guys here that do have keys. I 'd wait a while and see if they can come up with one
Or check with www.crowriver.com or ebay Ace keys are always on ebay but in the medium term if one doesn't turn up just
do the same as you did with the cabinet door.. You should then be able to replace both of them on the same key.

My machine doesn't have a coin box lock fitted. I guess that your machine was put somewhere where it was being filled by someone other than the operator.

The coin mech is very confusing for me too... It slides out by depressing the lever on the bottom...

The vending mech comes out by undoing the screws at the top and you can pull it out of the cabinet. You can then high pressure wash it to clean it up... Just make sure everything is secure and you don't have it too high to blow off springs etc.

My machine was restored when I bought it. But if it wasn't I would have had the cabinet done but would have left the vending mech... Its far to complcated for a mere mortal like me...

Have you seen Curtis's work??? Perfection.. But many hours work...

Hey at least you got it open, your on a roll now.. don't let all the complicated mechanisms and such scare you.. they look intimidating at first, unti you spend some time playing around with stuff, you'll eventully figure most of it out..
I'd definatly say it's a Stoner 180 with gum wheel.. not sure if they had different ids for the different mirror styles, but the base model is certainly a 180, or at least that is the most common reference number.
As far as cleaning it .. Like Dave said, take out the vending rack , locate the screws holding it in , should only be a 3-4 Its heavey so ask for help.. once out, Hose it down, spray some simple green or some other degreaser all over let it sit, andthe pressure wash it down... once clean, or as clean as that can get it, dry it off completely, use air, and or sit in the sun and make sure it dries completely... check all the mechanicals.. see if it accepts coins and vends properly? there should be a bypass on the coin mech,, usually a little lever that pulls out near the front that will alow it to vend without the coin in the mech.. or take the mech off and make sure the vend handles and flaps work correctly... As far as the mech,, try cleaning it seperately again, check the operation and you can then decide if it works fine the way it is or talk to some members on the board about restoring it? all depends on what you want..
If your going to go as far as restoring the insides... you have to ask yourself how mechanical you are and decide if your going to tackle it,, it will be a project, but can be done..

Thanks for all your suggestions so far.  I am still confused about how to "test operate" the machine.  I put a dime in it and tried to pull a handle(s) and they wont pull.  Its like there is something simple to do and I just don't understand it.  What is that grey plastic piece on the front bottom of the coin mechanism that has 2 spots in it that probably holds 2 different size coins?  And the tubular mechanism that is about a foot long with holes in it, likely holds coins for change dispensing I would guess?  What is a 180 M machine?  I see some parts manuals advertised for stoners, do these contain operating instructions also?  It looks like the slug ejector lifts up and out like the vendo 81 coke machine I have.

Any replacement locks like these out there?  Older original or reproductions are OK.  The one with the protruding cylinder looks odd.

Anyone able to decipher the serial number for me.  Year manufactured,etc?
