Just thought I would share with everyone what I found last night! I know it's not much but it was free! I got a call from a friend yesterday about a man that was cleaning out a building and had an "old" coke machine that he was going to haul off. All I thought was "old coke machine" and hurried down town to get it. It was kind of disappointing when I found it, but at the same time kind of exciting to get it for free. I will probably strip it down and throw the rest away. I has a really good coin mech, cooling system and the inside is virtually rust free. If anyone needs anything from it, just let me know!

Why not paint it red and get rid of the brown. You can polish that turd into something nice.

I agree with joey, especially if it works, and the innards are rust free. Not everyone wants, or can afford a roundtop machine

I agree - repaint or simply clean up and get it working properly, then sell it or donate it to a tax deductible place and get a write-off for $300 or so.

Sure! Peel off the woodgrain contact paper and paint the rest red or white. It's too good a machine to scrap out, and those are pretty popular with the non-collector general public, as well as the collectors that might not have a few thousand to spend on a machine. You could easily make a few dollars (or more) on that one if you just make it look nice. Heck, you could probably just give it a bath, make sure the lights and all work, and sell it as is for a couple hundred!

I'd say keep it and restore it as well, you got nothing into it.. put some nice paint, on it, some decals, maybe make or get a new (older) sign for the front and you'd have a nice little machine to sell or keep.. see example found on the web... I think Curtiss has used this machine to make some killer fantasy machines too... options are endless..

Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001... Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Thats a great find... I wouldn't part that out. Is there a model # on it? I thought it was a USS-64, but the stack looks a bit different.

Disappointed? No way! Those are nice machines! So it's brown, it doesn't have to stay that way. Mine use to have woodgrain (see my profile pic)
