Yes... the clockwise seems to do the trick.  I've gone about 3/4 a turn and have seen a good amount of improvement.  I will test again tomorrow and if same will drop it a bit more.

These little coke bottles gotta be cold!

Turn it until it turns off when running and you went the wrong way.
Be sure and mark it before you start so you can go back.

Nice machine!, I noticed in your pics that the compressor looks to be original & correct for an early model, but your evaporator is the late model style ( squared coils/fins & blowing backwards & up / VS round coils & blowing straight up) sheeze ..only I'd notice something like this .. I've been doing way too many V39 Decks lately... upside

Johnie,

Don't feel too bad.  I am cleaning up an early 39 and I noticed this one was different as well.  I did not, however, know that the evaporator in this machine was typical of later models.  Thanks for pointing that fact out.  Its those little tidbits that I find interesting and eduactional.  So I learned something new today, think reading this site can qualify for Continuing Education credits?
