Selling the Heintz?

Unfortunately due to an unforseen family medical situation, I may be selling the Heintz.

As I had indicated in my previous posts about this machine, one of the Canada Dry Brand Managers here in Michigan had contacted me about the machine after he saw the CL listing but I had already purchased it.  He is still interested in the machine for their office, I believe.

What is a fair price?  The Walter's book puts an average  machine at $1,350 and I think this one, while not restored, is above average.  The machine is complete--aside from the logo etched glass in the door--I think somebody took that along the way.  While the paint is not original it is close.  The body is straight and everything works.  I even replaced the Coke bottle opener with a correct Canada Dry opener that I found on E-Bay.

If he saw the CL listing, then he knows what you paid for it. This could hinder how much he is willing to pay you for it if your asking price is appreciably higher than what you paid for it - maybe not though if he really wants it. It is an uncommon cooler!
Hard to put a fair price on it in this economy, but if Jeff Wolf can get $50,000 for his restored Kooler Grill - who knows?

Sorry to hear of the medical problems , Aslo sorry to see you sell this off .
 but understandable family is first.
I would let the manager know that he has the first shot at it and if he take a pass list it
Ebay or Craigs list which ever.

You don't need to feel guilty  or slimy , you havw an  item you want  want sell at $1400.  Doesn't matter you  bought it of CL  a month before  and paid  $$$$.

Pat and Kilroy--I did tell the guy back when I got it that I would give him first shot because it would be nice to see it on display at Canada Dry.  And $1,400 was about what I was thinking as well.

I will let you know what happens--still haven't decided if I am going to sell it.

     I think it should go back to that company for future generations to enjoy,
if their offer is competitive.
      How many machines were exclusive to Canada Dry?
      They have very little heritage to choose from when it comes to machines and
you have something they want. That is good, Los Angeles Coke company buys
antique Coke machines from me to give away to potential customers, but they
have no interest in placing one in their lobby  Canada Dry does 

     Millions of Coke collectors out there....how many Canada Dry  collectors are
in the market for your cooler?

    You asked for opinions and I say "a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush"
work a deal with Canada Dry.
