Dose any body know if theres a gasket kit for the tall progress picnic coolerz? Also looking for a couple more to finish out my collection...
dr.pepper, stag beer, red rock, gresideick bros. beer, coca cola.... or any other wierd ones out there.
I have double cola, grapette, squirt, royal crown, non embossed, double dot pepsi.
I'll have photos when i get a digital camera

Clayton, what I use is the small diameter rubber tubing that you can get at Home Depot or any hardware store. You just have to be careful and no get to large of tubing because the handle going over the top to the lid handle is a tight fit and will make it hard to get the handle in place without mashing in the lid.
A trick I do to make the lid stronger is when I am restoring the lid I drill a hole and place expanding foam inside the lid it really strengthens the lid and make it hard to push in.
I love to collect Greidieck Beer stuff and have a couple of coolers both of which I found on ebay at reasonable prices. Might watch there....

I cant sell those but I will help you watch for one as several people know that I collect Griesedieck Brothers Beer stuff. I bet I can locate one and let you know how much they want for it.... The foam really makes the lids stand up good.

That sounds great, Im jus looking for a good project. some dents and dings, top crushed, but the inside needs to be good shape. I do paint and body work as a hobby on the side so a slightly banged up cooler is cool for me. I found a way to repair the tops that are crushed. When i bought my double dot pepsi the top was pushed all the way to the underside! took top skin of and dollied out, added a piece of 3" wide sheet metal and tacked in center. took spot welder and tacked back in factory spots, Filed the edges and and skimed. It's gray with red lettering so found a paint match and painted it. I'm would almost bet you could stand on it! '>

I will keep a watch out for one, you like to find them like I do, they need a little work but the insides need to be good. I dont know why but a lot of them you find have been used as an oil storage tank and there is not much you can do for them. I had never thought about the support piece that does sound like a good idea.
I am like you I just like to restore them for myself and I have done a few for friends, I will let you know if I find one...
