Hello all.  Today I purchased a Beverage-Air SF34 cooler.  I think it is a 1980-ish item.  The owner said it plugs in and comes on but not sure if it cools (which I knew meant it didn't).  It was $100 so I thought I'd play with it.  I will attempt to attach pics.  It is a R12 system, and the fans run but it doesn't get cold.  I will need a kit to convert it to 134a.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

Well, I thought I could but my pic files are too large.  Trying to figure out how to condense.

I give up.  The Help Section was worthless.  I was hoping to post some pics so I could get help, but 300 KB max is too small.  Nowhere does it help me shrink them.  Thanks anyways all.

Here are a few pics.  So far both the condenser fan and the recirc fan come on.  I can feel the compressor get hot and vibrate.  But there is no R12 freon in the system.  would like to find a kit to convert to 134a.

Welcome to the discussions board, it looks like a fun little project...well, getting it converted to R134A is the least of your worries, if it's out of freon there's a leak to be fixed first, just dumping gas into a leaking system is a waste of time & money, if you don't think you can find the leak & repair it first then it's time to get someone to lend you a hand with that part, fix it first THEN convert it to R134a if you're in S.E. Michigan I could lend a hand.

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!

"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.
