I've been using eBay for the good part of 15 years now and it has been very good to me. It clearly has changed over the years but overall it has remained solid. I remember calling them many years ago with a problem, although the wait was long they were very knowledgeable and fixed the problem. I know the site fairly well and never had any issues since where I needed to call, until now.

There is a problem with 2 of my listing that is on their end and I can't fix. I called them last week. It takes a while to find the phone number and even longer where they actually give it to you with a passcode to call. I was surprised how quickly they answered. Unfortunately they are subbing their calls outside the US. So, what we get now is people who you can't understand, know nothing on how to use the site let alone know how to fix anything, and everything they say is scripted. Very frustrating. They have many different departments so they shuffle you from department to department and everyone you talk to is a specialist. They are specialists who know NOTHING. 4 days now of calling my problem is not fixed nor will it get fixed. They gave up so I guess I have to as well.

If fee's weren't through the roof I would be more tolerant but what I pay them to use their service monthly I know I should get better than this.

I went through that just yesterday. They run you around in a circle on the website and if you are persistent, finally you may find the correct path and the link to call them. Then they have a generic answer that you could have made up yourself.
Its almost like trying to use Comcast customer service. They have an answer though, if you don't like it, go sell somewhere else......

That's too easy.
First, if you have an eBay issue, it must be as a buyer or seller. after a bunch of searching and clicking, you'll get to a page that says contact us. Then you must click through a bunch of buttons as buyer or seller, right down to the type of issue, and the specific item. If you get anything incorrect, it swirls you right back to the start. Once (if) you are successful in getting it right, the final two buttons are "contact us" and "ask the community".
In order to contact them, you get a phone number and a code. If the code expires or you don't have a code, the phone robot will not let you proceed. If you get through, you talk to someone in China (read Rays comments).
If you "ask the community" that takes you to a series of chats, etc where everyone is bitching about whatever problem they have with eBay. The process take a lot of time, and stress.

That is what I just went through on Monday. Is that how it worked for you Ray?

I totally gave up on eBay last year.
Terrible in so many ways.

I buy and sell now though Facebook.
It's free too.

I've only bought one machine off eBay and have never sold anything on eBay.

Only good thing I have ever heard about eBay is scrolling through the sold items to get an idea of what machines are selling for.

Then there's always that person (I seem to run into) at the flea market who says "right now there selling on eBay for X and I'm only asking Y."  Always makes me want to ask them, "why are you out here sweating/freezing for Y, when you can be sitting home comfortably getting X?"

I do ask them! Also, should they state: "on American Pickers or American Restoration, they sell for X", I kindly tell them they should sell it to Mike, Frank or Rick because my money is staying in my pockets ! ! !

I don't sell anything but would have never been able to find missing bits for many projects except on eBay. Odd bit will turn up elsewhere but rare. Just too much effort to sort what is available on FB. Wish all luck in whatever sales avenue taken.
