I recently picked up a early V39 (mint) and a seeburg 100J juke box in great condition about a mile from my house, they were advertised in a small local antique store. I paid $800.00 for the pair. I also picked up a V81 for $400.00 and a cavalier 72 for $175.00 recently, so the good deals are still avail. Terry  '>

About 8 years ago, I took some stuff to sell at the swap meet and brought along a restored Vendo 81 for exposure.
       A lady stopped by and said she had a Coke machine like it but someone before her had painted it "all yeller". "We don't use it no more and my husband needs the room"
       I immediately asked if it had square or round corners. She didn't remember so she took my buisness card. Next day she called and said it had round corners. Said she was no fool, and would not take less than $500.00.
       I told her she drives a hard bargain, but I would be over in 30 minites with the cash. That was a long long 30 minute drive.
       When I arrived, she led me to the livingroom and I found myself face to face with a Royal Crown VMC 81.
The red letters bad been buffed off long ago, so it was completely all yellow. Otherwise the condition was outstanding!
       As I was wheeling it down the driveway she said "It's a darn good thing my husband wasn't here when you came over.

   I immangined a big 4 X 4 pulling up with those shotguns across the back window. I set down the machine, turned around and asked her why she said that?
       As she is clitching her five onehundred dollar bills she says" My husband wanted to get rid of that old thing so bad, he probly would have GAVE it to ya.   '>

Wow! Great story. One we all wish we could tell.

I didn't purchase these, but thought I would share what I experienced Friday afternoon on my way home from work. I have passed an old boatyard everyday on my way home from work and just recently noticed an older coke machine sitting outside an old building and a newer coke machine up near the main building. This place has been closed and now is up for sale with a sign on the fence, "Selling Out" with the phone number. Well, on my way home I noticed the gate open and 2 guys walking around so I decided to pull in and ask about the coke machines. I got what I expected. "Why you interested in the machines"? "That one back yonder is an Antique, I bought that one 25 years ago and I know its an Antique, might need a lil work, but it was working good 10 years ago when I last used it." I asked if I could go look at it. As I got closer it got bigger and as I got up to it, it was a monster and I mean a monster. It loked like it was 8-9 foot tall. A westimghouse. Needless to say, major rust on the bottom and the door was open with weeds growing into it. The guy said again, "it worked 10 years ago when I last had it plugged in so Im sure the compressor is still good, I'l et ya have it for $50" I passed on it. You couldn't pay me $50 to haul that hunk of junk away. Way too much rust. I looked at the newer machine, I'd date it in the 80's and of course he said it worked and was worth like $3000 new, but if I really wanted it he would let it go for $300. I once again passed on it saying I wasn't really interested in them, just wanted to see what they were. Maybe when I have the extra money, I'll go back and see if he will take $100 for both.

Watch for the For Sale sign to come down and then he'll probably give them to you. I would sure stay away from that Westinghouse though, not too valuable even for parts.

I was more interested in the newer one. I have a vendo now that I bought for $75 and put in the place I work at. I have approx. 40 employees and since the week of Thanksgiving, I have made about $120 profit, and want another one to put in there that has more selections. I didn't realize how much a profit you can make out of these things. '>
