My collection so far...!

« on: December 04, 2012, 11:35:55 pm »

I found a  1963 Cavalier Coke Cs-80E at a local antique shop...They are asking $150 and supposedly it worked before it went into storage 10 years ago...bottle still with price tag of $0.75 which the plastic covering is really yellow and faded so it was used for quite some time.  In decent shape with scratches and dings, the usual...Good price?

If it works - and you are not thinking of trying to flip it - I'd say heck yeah.   I have a CS-96e that I paid $250 for and it gets used every day.

Very versatile, the only real "downside" to me is that it is a square-top machine so it is not as collectable.  That said - compare the price on a round-top slant shelf machine and you might learn to live with the squared top.    smile

That is a very good machine for that amount of money.

Thanks Everyone for the input.  I checked it out again and plugged it in...seems to work fine.  Needs a bit of cleaning and some rust on the top but i would probably leave it as is for now...I will probably get it but need to find the room for it before I bring it home! Haha!

How much electricity does it suck?  That is one of my main concerns being it from the 60's...

If you install new wiring and fans. Door seals and keep it full of product. It won't draw enough to worry about.

Leave the old wiring and you have short/fire concerns.
