Has anyone seen anything like this before?  Picked it up at an estate sale, pretty cool it must weigh 30lbs since it's 3/8 in thick.

Looked up the shipyard online and from some pictures I found it looks like this might be an ID tag for a ship. I'm looking now to see if I can find out what ship it was from. Really neat piece!

Now I'm not 100% positive but I believe I might have found the ship it was on if this is an ID tag. I found this list here http://oceania.pbworks.com/w/page/26044519/Odense%20Steel and if I am reading the list right and the list is what I think it is it looks like the ship this came off of might have been the VIBEKE MAERSK and here is a picture of that ship.

Thanks for the info, I assumed this was off a ship but wasn't sure.  When I google this ship it's pretty clear Vibeke Maersk was 1948 and #107.  Again, thank you.

Nice work there SB!!
Sad to see the ship listed as "dead" in the registry.

No problem. It was pretty fun looking it up! (I love finding the history of stuff like this biggrin )
