Has anyone been using or buying the Coke,Dt Coke and Sprite 8 oz aluminum bottles... They are neat little bottles hold 8oz of product have have a twist on cap. They really haven't caught on around here yet, but I was able to buy a few cases from my local Coke Distributor... They actually had to order them in from their main plant for me as they haven't been able to sell them around here to any retailers yet... They where spendy though.. I get employee pricing from them and it was still 9.50 a case.

I had one at a drive-in in Indianapolis. I paid extra for it over a fountain drink because it caught my eye. They are cool looking. I hope they catch on as I bet they will vend in a v81

Vending in an 81 is not an issue (is it?), but if it vended from the V-44 or 80 without having to shim the columns....
I imagine they are the same diameter as the glass 8oz. bottles though.

They are pretty small.. 8.5 oz of fluid but in a sturdy alum. bottle... the diamter is only 2 1/8 wide and it stands 7.5 inches tall...

obvioulsy not problem in any slant shelf machine or V-39... I have not yet tried it in the 44 yet, but I would think you would still need to shim it like with the small glass bottles.

My local coke distributer here where I got them from said they just have not been too popular and I asked why, he said price point.. wholesale price was like 23.05 a case!!!!.. no wonder ... he agreed...

he also said that at least in my area, they where brining back 12oz bottles.. (he referenced the mexi cokes that are currently available) and sad they would be like that? so not sure he meant with sugar, but at least available..

so keep on the look out for those..
