I cant understand why this box is warranted for only 90 days unless it may be a piece of junk and I can't afford to sink $600 plus, into junk. I am interested in the quality of the product. I guess I could always get an extended warranty on it and if it lasts the length of the warranty it should be in for the long haul. Can anyone pass along some info on it.
The box cools by compressor, not ice.

If your machine has a warranty or extended warranty, chances are it may be too new for most of us to really be of any help

My six cents,

That machine is the repro of the Westinghouse Junior made by American Retro.  Not sure where those were made but the 90 day warranty would suggest offshore somewhere.

Although if its just the ice version I can't imagine much going wrong with it. Its basically just a metal box with a lid. Not too much can go wrong.

Just keep in mind that if this repro sell well enough their will another and another. This is what they have done to the pedal car market. Before the repro of the airplane came out these were selling for $2000 unrestored. Now you can buy a repro for $600 and they are already finished. I warned my brother about buying repro pedal cars and he ignored me. Now he has original airplanes that are worth about half of what they used to sell for. He helped kill the market by buying repro's. Of course even if he hadn't bought the repro's the prices would have went down but at least he wouldn't have participated in his own hobbies destruction.
