I just bought this thermometer. It looks to be in good condition. It has the original intact thermometer. It is in good condition. Not NOS but still OK. It is a big thermometer. I believe it is over 24 inches tall. What is the value of this. I think I did well on it. I paid $50.

Ok with the lack of responses I am starting to think I got a bad deal. Did I screw this purchase up? I am sure it is an original as this guy says it was n his grandpa's garage all of his life. I know these are common but do they go for less than $50? I hope not. I thought I got a good deal. It is 30" so its a big sign.

Josh,
I  think you did ok on your purchase,, it looks like an original, most likely marked on the bottom by Robertson or Donasco.. those are two of the companies who made several sizes of bottle thermometers...It's pretty common,, the really rare ones actually have embossed letters on them and come in 12-15" size and also a larger 30" size that is quite valuable.

Your thermometer is the 30 inch version.
It is listed in the most recent Petretti's
Coca Cola Collectibles price guide 12th Edition
at $85 (page 235). I find this rediculously low
because the 11th edition released in 2001
shows a value of $185. This thermometer is from 1958.
I have been collecting Coke memorabilia since 1975.
Most of the time these sell for well over $100.
Either way you did well. I wouldn't sell one for less than
$100.
