Idea for 2008..feature an item of the month...

This is used on other forums. How about featuring a different collectible item every month say..lighters, light up signs, syrup dispensers, clocks, ect..or signs from paricular brands of soda (off brands).

Then if members want to contribute pictures they can. I know alot of you out there have some great stuff.

There should be plenty of "categories" to explore in the world of soda.

What do you all think?

You're thinking of creating a forum for a monthly discussion on particular soda machine related collectibles... Then members can post discussions/questions/photos pertaining to the monthly topic or item...

Let's see if this develops from various input...
If so, consider it created...

On another note, I do like the idea of posting travel "hot spots" on a Google Map where members have visited that may be of interest to others that may be traveling to the same area...

That sounds cool.  You could be more specific than soda sign and the topics could go on for a long time.  You could do topics of specific machine models, brands, flange signs, pop racks, calendars, etc.

This is where I have to disagree.. we need to keep it Soda Machines or Soda Brand's
and the stuff that goes with that brand Signs, machine ,dispensers and so on .
You start to included other coin op and this no long would be  Soda-Machines .com it
becomes something else.
 This is what this site is all about Soda Machine and this is where some of us got
our feet wet , Yes there is a Coin op area  but you look and the rest is about
soda machines.

I like it... as long as we stick with soda..... we get into jukes, pumps, etc. that would be too much
lets keep that stuff under general chit-chat as I love that stuff too and it has it's place here but..
doing a machine, sign or brand of the month and each post what they have in that brand along with a little story of how they got it would be cool. I'm in!

yes,  I meant to stay within Soda machines, so wether coin op or not would be cool... but staying with the theme of Soda... I do think advertising would be a cool part too, like signs... Gotta protect my ID Name "Signguy"...
