Well I got my parts I needed from Funtronics, got all my screws for my machine the clutch head screw driver, manuals which I think someone needs to seriously update, with color pics maybe.

I broke down my Vendo 44, took the tub out, took the compressor out, cleaned the inside out, tossed all the insulation to find surface rust inside the tub, its not to bad inside but enough to get me to sandblast and see what else is going to come out of it.

I learned how to take the machine apart, man its easy as pie.  I'm thinking of taking a picture of every piece of the machine for future reference.  Seeing as there all in the bags.

I'm going to send my coin mech to Funtronics and order a new door liner, since the one on mine is scrap.

I think this weekend if its nice out I'm going to sand blast the bottom inside of the tub where all the rust is and leave the top logos alone till I find someone who can replicate them for me over here.  I'm going to prime the tub and the local body place can mix up the paint code for me.

I'm psyched.....  I think in about a week I'll have the tub painted or at least the bottom red portion.  My inner and outer door inside are fine, they just need a new paint job on the outside.  So I'm thinking of leaving the insides original, no point in cleaning them out if there not rusting.

I'm sure I'll need help putting it back together lol..

k - cant wait to have it done

Why? I don't think Ebner does repairs - does he? Do you mean Soda Jerk Works?

I think that's great. A documented play by play would be most appreciated bt many of us novices. Keep pics coming!  '<img'>

You need to get your chrome plating mailed out ASAP!   At this rate, your tub, compressor and paint job may all be done before you get your chrome back.

Well I just bought the chrome Vendo handle on ebay I won the auction... Should be a nice addition to my Vendo 44.  I'll post pics of what I've done so far.

Today I started to sand blast the inside of the tub, its got rust all on the bottom.  The foot of the cabnet is actually better than the inside.

I have a few holes about the size of the quarter coming out the sides of the 44 tub and the bottom plate needs to be replaced.  So I'm going to bead blast the whole bottom plate, cut it out to about a 14 inch around then weld in a nice heavy guage steel plate on the bottom.  As for the sides, I'm not expert at welding thing guage metal so I'm going to play around with it.

I'm also soaking the casters on the bottom with release all while I do this, there fused to the bottom.  I should have the cabnet blasted by next week and then I'll start welding it up when its all rust free..

As for Chrome, the dude over here only takes about a week to do it.... lol  but yeah I'm itching to have this thing working lol..

Pics are a coming

I just bought some original casters to go on my WD-5. They were rusted firm. I soaked them in Muriatic acid (pool acid). It ate the rust right up. I was able to take the nuts and bolts off and drive the collar out off the wheels. A little further cleaning with the Dremel, greased them up and put them back on. Now I can wheel the cooler around with ease.
