My brother was on a job site, and there was this old coke fountain in the basement of an old hotel. He passed it for 3 days, then finally brought it home. It really needs a good cleaning, and I don't know if I would ever drink out of it, but its still pretty cool. There is one crack on the bottom of it, and the lid has a piece broken on it. A very thorough cleaning would make this a neat piece to sit on a table somewhere...

Great Score! Get some type of an epoxy to control the cracked lid and that lower damage... a little sanding and touch up paint to hide the epoxy, little elbow grease and you're done! You've got a great little dispenser! Way to go!

Well, I gave it a bath tonite... it cleaned up pretty well. The pictures will not look that much different, but here are a few...
I am trying to figure out how to remove the front and rear panels to try to clean the gold area... I haven't tried too hard to remove them, but a quick look turned up nothing.. Any ideas???

Ken-
The dispenser was not designed to come apart for cleaning. I have a few of these and am planning at some point to try and take one apart and see if it can be put back together. If you want to try I do know that the place to start is the metal strip on top of that panel. I have one dispenser that someone had removed that part. From there I am not sure. The front clear panel I am guessing either slides into place or it might be held in place by the chrome molding. Good luck,

Thanks Steve... Wow..you sure have one heck of a collection of dispensers.. Very cool site. Do you them all displayed???
I don't know if I am going to get into a full teardown at this point. I thought it may have come out easily for cleaning. I need to get my Nehi and VMC done plus a few house projects before this one... I think I am going to clamp it to my workbench for now '>

Ken- I don’t have the room the display them all unfortunately. I have knock out a few of my “honey do” projects though and I might start working on a display cabinet for the garage soon. With 40+ dispensers now it will be hard to pick 10 to 12 that would fit nicely in the garage though.
