Now I have everyones attention, let the story begin!

I am a nice guy & have wanted a V-81 for some years.

They are like rocking horse doodah in the UK but as a
prince I know that my princess will one day turn up!!!

So when one turns up, being a prince, one buys one!

I have been aware of this site for sometime but had
not registered nor checked it for a while.......so...
after the purchase, I check the board and there my
princess is in full colour on the birdmans latest post!

Shock Horror!!!@?@""!!

I trawl thru the birdmans history and see that he too
has been waiting for the princess to arrive, but has
succumbed to temptation & bought a SECOND V-39,
[greedy pig!]

mmm....................what shall the prince do?

I don't want to be seen as the birdmans grim reaper?

but I still need the expertise of the members [& access
to some cheap replacement parts!].

Come Clean! says the angel on my shoulder.................

Keep shtum! [quiet] says the devil on my other shoulder!

Well, to cut a very long story down to just a long story!

The Ginger Prince comes clean and tells the Birdman ALL!

As I thought from his posts, Dave is a top guy and has been
very helpful to me since I bought the machine. I know very
little about soda machines, [come to think of it I know little
about most things!], so I will be counting on you all to assist
especially in the early days!

I will be taking some pix later this week when I go down to see
my princess.Am also hoping to power up & see what happens,
[probably not a lot as it's not been powered up for 10 years!].
I will be happy if the light comes on! I will post the pix next week and you can see what a frog/princess I have bought. I spent sometime last week just getting 10 years crud off her,
no fun!
One question that I have at present, it's a small coin door mech, [dime or two nickels, so it says, but who knows!] but
as I was cleaning it last week I noticed the coin mech has
x2 wires coming into it attached to a plate that slips over at
the front of the mech, what are these for please? any help?
I will post pix next week if that helps too.

Hope you enjoyed the story ...................................so far.

Thanking everyone in advance

Ginger Prince, Welcome to the board and congrats on you finding a machine. I can't wait to see the pics. The wires going to your mech are for a heating element. It kept the coin mech from freezing in the winter. If it hasn't already been disconnected I would do so if I were you. Those little things do get hot.

Great to have you here Ginger Prince. Great story! As you already know, this site is an excellent resource for info as well as a place to share pictures and stories from everything from soda pop machines to family funnies.

One thing I know the folks here love to do is help others out. I've seen multiple people that happen to be online at the same time stumble over each other to answer a post from a person in need. That's a good thing. None of it is done out of the need to be first but to help that person in need as quickly as possible.

So, we can't wait to see your pic's of your new found beauty!!

Hey Ginger

I forgave you long ago. My wife thinks you're wonderful and reckons its because of you we can celebrate Christmas this year and the little ones will get their presents.

So definately no hard feelings.
