Ok

What's the max you'd pay not including shipping for a Vend, VMC 56 or 81 in fair to good condition.

I've found a 56 in decent condition for 1800 (problem 400 for shipping)

I'm bidding on an 81 on ebay right now I'm at 2000 and I'm willing to go to about 2500 (shipping will be about 125)

What have you paid recently for these machines?

thanks

Are these round tops or squared machines....
Round top I went $3100 for a Pepsi 81 (that was crazy money for me)
and lost..... '<img'>
the Coke at $2500 must be nice and $125 isn't bad for shipping....
I paid $150 to ship a 7up Quikold junior from ND to Missouri.... and that
is probably half the weight of a 81.
I've been lucky to find these models close by and way under those prices
but I have had to wait a long time. Still waiting on the Pepsi 81...and
one will pop up.....
Just depends on what you feel you can afford and if you can wait...

The 81B you are bidding on is nice even up to $2500.

To the group........  If your refrigeration needs a re-charge, do not use this temporary fitting, and try to hide it in the rear. This looks tacky  Vendo 81 B

Moondawg,

I see where you say that up to $2500 is good for the 81B that is being discussed...is it more rare than an 81D with the larger door like this one...or is this a fraud?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....IT&rd=1

I'm the high bidder...I think the concensus was that I'm over paying by more than a little, but it seems to be in better shape than the 81B being discussed...can you lend your expertese on this?

81Ds are a good choice. I personally like the looks of a D because of the large coin door. I think your bid is sound but not to much more than that. but look at what a restoration would cost if it needed one?
