Hello this is my first post. I just recently inquired a cavalier uss-8-64 from my uncle. He purchased new in early 80's. It has been in storage and unplugged for past 10 yrs. I can plug it in and compressor only runs for maybe 10 min and cuts off. Is most likely the compressor shot?

Welcome-

Check to make sure the thermostats is turned a few notches like 3 or 4 if not turned on the compressor will cut off basically right ways since there is a cut in and cut out setting on the t stat.  This controls cabinet temperature and from keeping the compressor running continuously .

I was going to say the same thing. Try messing with the thermostat. It may be stuck, or turned down.... Or bad.
When the compressor runs, do any of the lines get cool
