Are there any general troubleshooting trees for some of the different cooling systems? Something general, like say for a system that isn't cooling. It might start, "is the motor running?  (yes/no) Is the compressor running" (yes/no), and then lead you down paths that address each deficiency?  I was hoping to find something pinned, but I don't see any.

Not any I've seen in the modern tree/org chart format you are asking for.
Some/most of the original service manuals have a yes/no in a linear progression.
Bit more difficult to follow but got the machines mended in the day.

The Vendo 81 and VMC 81 manuals have some troubleshoot tips and misc charts, etc.
