OK, I've got both machines up and running with all the lamps replaced and a new coin mechanism for the big one.

I'm going to sell the big one since it takes up so much space in the garage, but I can't find any books at the library that discuss machines.  I have no idea of their values.  Nor do I have any clue how old they are.

Here's what I have:

---Can machine ----
Cavalier CC8-456G
Serial # 544947
Vinyl graphics are peeling
Mechanics work
Gets good and cold
Replaced all lamps
Replaced coin mechanism with Imonex (I think that's the brand)
Have two original coin mechanisms

The one I just got is:

--- Cans or Bottles ---
Cavalier USS-8-64
Serial # 367986
Mechanically sound
Original coin mechanism
Original interior decals still in place
Gets VERY cold
Paint is in good condition
Minor dings on top left corner

Can anyone help me figure out how old these machines are and their approximate value?

I paid $200 for the can machine and another $90 worth of parts.  I paid $300 for the can/bottle machine and have added zero parts.

Thanks for all your help getting this newbie advised.
