What in the world would posess me to click on that link?  I just don't get them.. they must think were stupid or something..

I work IT and can tell you people will click on that link  without  a pause.  Same thingwith the phuishingscams where paypal/Amex/ local bank sends an account locked notice or wanting  account information. Nevermind the "sender"  wouldn't have theor work enail, or in some cases, the people didn't even have an account with the "bank",  so asked me what their  account number, and ID is.

      Oh, he didn't get far............ but now someone has all of our e-mail addresses from his address book.

I admit, I was almost tricked by a couple of internet scams, when I was younger and dumber. I got wise really quick. Looking for a car on craigslist will clue you in fast on the more obvious ones. Still have to watch out for the stunts used car dealers sometimes like to pull though.

I don't have much that they can steal anyway.

Any email where they ask you for your asking price when you've already posted it or for you to contact them back at an email address is a scammer. Also "do you still have it?" even though the listing was just posted 2 hours earlier. I'd be wary of those as well.

I often ask a variant of "do you still have it", but generally only after it's been up a few days.

I do also, but give contact them my contact information, or add something to let them know I am serious about whatever they are selling

I always delete these automatically. It always feels like fishing to me. I start to think... If I did have it would it matter anyway or are you just looking for my email so I get porn ads sent to me?!!?  Would you have put more effort into asking a real question you had and you didn't want to waste you time so your wasting mine deciding if I'm answering a computer or not.

If the ad is up, assume they have it. If they don't they will tell you or ignore it, and you are probably missing out on some good stuff.
