After reading a few posts. I got the impression I could just fill up some glass bottles and stick them in the machine. For example if I use a breakmate or find some store willing to let me fill up a glass container from there foutain. The big problem is my wife thinks the soda will go flat. I have seen the videos of soda companies washing/filing the bottles up then capping them off. Am I missing anything like a vacum pack or something? If somebody could give me a quick run down. It is a great idea but I want to make sure it is done correctly. Since soda does taste better in glass. I was also lucky to take some advice and found 6 pack IBC stuff at walmart for $2.50. Still at $2.00 a 12 pack of cans. Well you get the idea.

Thanks,

Well Im the breakmate filler Guy  '<img'>  you will need a way to get the product either from a home unit or another source, a bottle capper and bottlecaps and Bottles of course and a funnel to fill them, I would sterilize the bottles in the dishwasher and you should be set, It wont loose carbination in any real world amount of time in fact I have a 6 pack from 1991  (for looks) and I shake up the bottles and they still fizz, so thats not a issue. They arnt vaccume packed/bottled. I love My brekmate But  they are known to be kinda picky but isnt anything electronic?'<img'>?   OH FYI I was at sams Club the other day and they had the 24 pack of Cokes for 6.00 or something like that But I always pass cause Its regular coke and I only drink caffeine free regular coke.

I refill old Mountain Dew bottles from 2 liter. Dishwasher is too hot for these. I use a brush and cleaning solution. A home brew beer/wine store will have everything you need. Some stores will have over-run bottle caps that are cheap and fun (strange brands out there :-). The clerks always get a kick out of the fact you are getting set up for an old soda machine.

Considering the time involved doubt that any money is saved. Sure is tasty though!!

you are lucky to have a sams club. I moved up to boise idaho and all they got is costco. They are not no sams club. Sams clubs have better prices and cheaper membership fees the last time I check years ago. Plus they only have one costco and it is like 100% packed all the time like the walmarts are during the day. Don't really want to bash cosco but over all opion was pretty bad. I even went back to costco with less people and was still no impressed.

Thanks for the information,
