While on a family road trip I stumbled across what Appears to be an unrestored, Vendo 39. Paint looks Good, not dents or rust. Drum, coin mech and Everything else seems to be there and runs like a top.
It's red with while lettering, 5 cent mech, no White stripe coming down mech, with ice cold in White at the bottom. Hand holding a coke in the Middle.
I was essentially told "make me an offer". I told them I Would sleep on it and make them an educated Offer this evening. Its not an 81, which is what I would really want, but appears to be a very solid Machine.
What's it worth, what would you pay??
I apologize for no pics, I only have one and I'm Not able to upload it

Really hard without pictures. Sounds like a nice unrestored machine, if it is just that perhaps somewhere in the $750 range.

If you really want an 81 don't waste money on a 39. Machine funds are tied up in the 39 and sure enough a nice 81 will turn up. Stuck with the 39 and someone else gets the 81. Creighton

There's alot of wisdom with what Creighton had to say. If an 81 is what you really want, then it may be the best thing to way for one. That being said, if its a super nice origonal than $600-$800 would be good. I'd start at $500 and go from there, explaining the biggest down-side is that it only vends one size bottle. TFJ

So heres the update. Lets just say I am so very thankful for the community on this forum and all the knowledge available. We were miles apart on the Machine. He wouldn't go any less than $2200. While it was a very nice machine, it wasn't 2 grand nice. I don't honestly think he was really wanting to sell it. That being said, i gave him my info. maybe he changes his mind. Till then, my hunt for a barn fresh 81 continues

Hey Slyguy,
You're in the same boat I was in when I first got on the forum. Was about to pull the trigger on a Vendo 39 for around $2000, the guys on here talked some sense into me. Long story short I got a Vendo 81 the next week instead. I'm glad I waited and went with the 81 as my first machine. It's a keeper. The Vendo 39 will definitely be in my collection one day, but as you said no way would I spend close to $2k for one. Happy hunting!

Here's a good price on a solid looking 39. In New Jersey though. http://cnj.craigslist.org/atq/3027390303.html
