What do you all think?  I think the heat would melt the paint off, or twist the shell!

Kinda cool, but what a waste of a good cooler.  As for the heat, looks like it's pretty well lined with fire brick, so it would probably be ok from the heat.  Just my thought.

I have been grilling on a Coke bow out chest for the last ten years or so. It was a piece of junk when I got it so no regrets. It hasn't started on fire yet or anything like that. It is getting really rusty, so it's days are numbered.

I don't mind it, I'd like to see what it has for a lid though.  I think there's enough of these Standards around that they look alright repurposed.  I had one that was in decent shape that I had a tough time selling for $100, maybe I should have thrown in some Weber grill components and some high-heat paint and called it a custom job!
