« on: July 26, 2011, 08:16:39 pm »

I just recently bought a vendo 56 square top with the can racks in it and had a couple questions about it.
the first thing i wanted to know about was if it needed a micro switch (see photos). if so, which one? i know the soda jerk works has two different ones for the 56 and i'd like to know which one is the right one for my machine.
the second question i had was where can i get a new coin mech cheap? the old one inside of it was completly broken. it takes coin mechs with 9 prong plug (4 flat on either side with the round prong in the middle).

I"m pretty sure the switch is used to activate the 'Have a Coke' light, if you don't have the light the switch wouldn't be necessary.

My vending rack on a Vendo 90 without the Have a Coke light doesn't have a micro-switch either, although the mounts are there just like in your photo.  David is right on why the switch is there.

Any single price 110-115 volt mech will work. Look on ebay. Just dont buy a 24 volt mech. It will FRY when you plug it in.

sounds like you probably do need the switch since someone has hardwired the light,   The pull tabs should be locked up without a coin mech, or even without power to the machine, sounds like someone has bypassed the vend solenoid to make it a free vend.

Need to see the side of the stack to see if it is all there.
Remove shelves and 4-5 screws on left side (bottom to top).... the rear is supported by posts, but it's heavy so be ready.
I uploaded a manual  (available in the Downloads Section on the SMC Main Page). It has a can stack schematic in it.

Yep if it is not locking then something is missing in the stack. I have seen some nasty chop jobs to get it on free vend. It may not be fixable. The only way to tell how bad it is to pull out the stack and take a look.
