HELP needed CHANGING my USERNAME login

Can anyone show me the steps for changing my login USERNAME?
My profile shows that I can change my login PASSWORD but I don't see any way of changing my USERNAME to something else.

and help is appreciated.

Terry,

There is a Menu in hte upper portion of the page - right under your Avatar.  Gives you the choice to pick Home, Help, Search, Profile, etc.

Select Profile.  This brings up a new page with your current account info.  To the left are 2 headings, "Profile Info" and "Modify Profile".  If you click on "Account Related Settings" under the "Modify Profile" tab, it will take you to the page to change your username.

That's the page I've been going to. It shows my USERNAME but the option to change it is not offered.
Below it is NAME, and there is an option to change it.
But I don't want to change the NAME (that's the one everyone can see), I want to change the USERNAME (which is what's needed on logging-in).

I think you will have to have an administrator change it
OR
Create an all new account.

You only have 5 posts and no loss there, so just create a new account with the User Name you want.

Send me a Personal Message and let me know what you want your user name to be. It may take me a day or two to get it changed. There are problems with "just" creating a new account.

No problem. There are so many spam sign ups that (I think what happens is) Jim waits to hear from a person wondering why they are not approved yet. SMC gets over 1,000 sign ups per month!  I was just trying to avoid him getting lost...
