Last July I had a customer buy some parts from me. I had some VMC44 parts that I had kept from a long time ago and then I bought a VMC 44 door on ebay. I had planned on keeping the parts in case I found a stripped 44 shell but with the new family and unemployment I sold it all. A person in Sweden bought it all. I shipped it to him in several packages to keep costs down as its cheaper to send several small boxes than 1 huge box. Well here it is about 8 months later and I get an email saying he received some of the parts but the two coin doors did not arrive. This sounds really fishy to me. I can't imagine someone waiting 8 months to check a package especially when he was in a hurry to get them. They were sent by air not sea so its not like shipping took a long time? I don't plan on reimbursing him but what should I do. Or what would you do if you were in this situation? It all seems fishy to me!

first thing is to check the Swedish transaction laws. Italy for example, allows a buyer to claim they never recevied and item, and the clearing ghouse (PayPal)  refunds it no questions, no investigations.
Any paper trail for verification when it arrived?

Besides that, i agree with you. I wouldn't offer a refund

#1 - Write Dear Abby instead of SMC.

#2 - Change your phone number.

#3 - Ignore him.

#4 - Get some tartar sauce for the fishy situation.

I wouldn't believe him.  No refunds!.

Josh, if he paid though Paypal, there is a time limit (I think it's 3 months) where a buyer can put in a claim to get the money back.

laugh Larry you  make me laugh.

Don't buy into what he is saying . I have a Customer that deals with the swed's on restored cars  one of the guys claimed that the car came to him damage
my customer told him to send him  pictures  for proof  .  And as he said  he never heard from that guy again.
Just blow him off, and like Tkaz said there is a time with Paypal to do a claim.

I think he is just trying to get money from me. I know he is a lurker here  so he will see this message and lay off when he sees that we all see though him. why would he wait almost a year to ask about it. And why would I refund his money this far away from the sale?? Oh Well.

This is why he thinks you should refund him after six months...
