Hi,

I have a CSS-8-64 machine that I purchased about a year ago that I am just now getting able to work on. I have replaced the thermostat control and am in the process of cleaning it out.

The main reason I am posting to this forum is that the Coin Mech/Vendor/Change giver isn't functioning properly. I have gathered that it is a National Rejector model 8000 or series 1-15 setup.

The problem is that once the machine is plugged in the change unit just runs ands runs and runs. I load nickels and dimes into it and it just spits them out. Any ideas what the problem(s) could be?

first suspect is a stuck/shorted or reverse-wired inventory/change switch, it's used to manually eject coins from the change tubes for inventory, ( as the name suggests). The switch is usually a small sliding type mounted on the front lower corners of the mechanism.

You can see the inventory switch on the attached picture, it's on the lower-right corner on this Coinco 9800 series mech'

Your inventory switch is the small red slider I circled in your picture, make sure it's not set to eject all of the change.
