This is Josh Loman. I am who you spoke to today on the phone. I have never seen this version of the Selectivend/Vendo 83 conversion. That is really odd.

The only thing that I can think of is someone may have converted this conversion to be a free vend version. I have had a few of these conversion machines and one thing about yours is different. On all of mine the aluminum part on the front has had a textured pattern on it that is not present on yours.

A little background for everyone on the site. Jason got this machine and it was gutted on the inside and he had shelves made for the machine. He also had a new liner made for the inside. Do you have the original liner still? That may show if there were mounting holes for the bottle stack?

I wonder if this wasn't a Selectivend V83 conversion and someone redid it as a free vend machine by replacing the aluminum on the front to make it flat and to cover the coin door. This is just a thought. I attached two pics of one that I had. In the second pic you can see the pattern on the aluminum front.

The front used to be textured but was in real bad shape when i bought a sheet of stainless to make the liner inside i had some left and figured it your be nice to make the outside match

After seeing your pic of what it should have looked like, i actually like it better with out that coin box, it looks to big and to square does not match the design of the machine itself being all rounded

it would be nice to make it actually coin operated but maybe use the coin door off of a actual vendo 110 which is rounded

Looks like it was an automatic V-83 that was converted (with the bottle opener in the middle). Do the crowns follow a chute to the bottom of the main door?

EIther way I like the way it looks. That is a good functional machine. That can't be said about many V83's

Yes there is a chute in the door that the caps follow
Also if u take the metal off of the front half of the v83 door is still there it's just covered
