Hi there !
Saw a Vendo 44 today, which was restored 5-7 years ago - basically just painted outside and cleaned inside. The paint is OK, no dents, just few small chips in the paint here and there and from where the bottle comes out. In the BACK panel - all the way down where the compressor is - you can see some bubbles under the paint(rust), but the area is small, around 1" x 1". The machine cools, and works fine. Inside everything is original, decals are there, no rust, and everything works OK.  Can not really tell, if something is missing inside, but it works OK, so I guess everything is there.  All seals are fine. Coin mechanism looks clean and fine, but is set for free pay, and the owner do not know, how to set it back to pay mode, or if it works correctly. If you drop a coin, it will just go through the mechanism. The machine is located only 15 minutes from where I live, so I don't have to worry any expensive shipping charges, plus worrying buying something I can't see(ebay).
Anyway the price for this Vendo 44 is $2200, and since I'm pretty new on this, the question is, is that fair value, overpriced or bargain and should I go for it ? Any feedback is appreciated.

Hi & Welcome!  In my opinion it seems a little high for a machine that has Blister rust, (not a good thing '<img'>  ) the rust you see may only look small, but if the machine has been "wetting the bed" (the inner liner has been leaking & soaking the insulation under it) the rust damage may be more than you can see on the outside! this is usally caused by a blocked drain in the bottom of the tank (inner liner) & water (codensation) puddling on the floor of the liner & seeping through to the insulation, or just the floor's rusted in a spot, maybe around a screw hole, & caused the leak, so I'd really have to go over it with a fine tooth comb before I'd shell out the dough, you don't want to get it home & find out you've got a rusted out bottom pan. try to take a look under down by the compressor (the "roof" of the compressor area) & look to see if there's more rust-out! this is a hidden area & you might be surprised, you might even try poking it gently with a blunt metal object ( with the owners permision of course!) to see if its really solid, or the paints just holding it together. OK now that I scared the beans out of you,   '<img'>  still seems a litlle high in price to me, hope this helps...JohnieG

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!
The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p
Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor
11 is louder than 10...
"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.
