I like mine a little better. A ton of work and I would never do it again but it sure looks pretty. I think it took me 10 years to pay off the sign painter who did the emboss work.

Your cooler was an electric model... there would have been a large vented panel to cover the bottom front area.
You would need to remove the tub to get to the chrome strips clamps to remove safely. Here is a double size cooler with everything you need on ebay right now http://www.ebay.com/itm/very-rare-pepsi-cola-ice-chest-cooler-/130908820998?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e7ac61606 if it doesn't sell, and you're close, maybe you could work something out... Just seen that it doesn't have the opener... but have seen them on eBay from time to time... Just have to watch. |

I am pretty certain that is the Model number of the box, not of the compressor or compressor deck. That is the information that is needed.
I don't recall Westinghouse building these small compressors for refrigeration, maybe they did. They did build complete boxes, but they may have bought the refrigeration deck from Seeburg or Cavalier or someone like that. I am willing to bet the compressor is a Tecumseh, but would still need to know the Model number. And, are you certain the rest of the oil isn't in the evaporator or condenser? If the system leaked at any point, the loss of charge reduces refrigerant velocity to the point that it will no longer carry the oil - starting with leaving it in the evaporator, then condenser (but if it ran long enough to do this, I wouldn't waste another minute on the compressor, running or not, and change it). How oil works in a refrigeration system is much more complicated than it is in a car. The next issue is, again, have you found the source of the oil leak if there is only an ounce, and fixed it? Because if you don't fix it, it won't hold the new oil, much less the refrigerant you are going to put into the system (which will leak out quicker than the oil). |

Hi guys,
Looking for some advise! Not long ago I bought this cooler and recently had it blasted and primed with the aim to restore it. Now the questions; Would it originally been an electric cooler? If so now it doesn't have any internal, are they or something similar available? What type of grill/louvers would of been in place at the bottom of the machine? How to remove the chrome strips from the front without damaging them? Are new top lid seals available and handles? Anyone with any colour codes for repainting it? What's missing from the bottle opener and the other side or anywhere else?.... Lol Cheers, Paul ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Westinghouse model L-25-CF, (1941). Getting ready to charge the system but wanted to drain out old oil. Only got maybe an ounce or so. The thing has sat for years but is functional. No shorts or grounds, and does run with a new 3 in 1 wired to it.

I haven't seen this logo before, Big King Coke 12oz. Not a bad looking logo, I'd like it on a sign.

How long did it take before the decal actually started sticking? A few minutes after applying. The more you spray the surface , and decal the longer I had. I could of peeled it off but I didn't want to damage the corners from trying to peel. |
