Registration / log in issues

I've seen here and on other sites recently people having trouble logging in or registering here. Here are a few tips that should hopefully help out.

If you are trying to log in and you get incorrect password errors... try this:

    1. Clear cookies--- delete all your cookies or at least any related to Soda-machines.com
    2. go to www.soda-machines.com. At the bottom left, log in with your username and password.
You should get a confirmation that you are successfully logged in.
    3. from the site menu, select discussion forums and log in again. It should be good.

If not, reset your password from the main soda-machines.com page.

If you are a new member, Make sure you use a correct email address for the registration process. An activation email will be sent. You need to check your email to activate your registration. If you didn't receive a message, send an email to jim@soda-machines.com.

Thanks a bunch Ken ! ! !

Just for clarification; Our Home Page/Main Site and Discussion Areas no longer can communicate. This requires the dual login; however, if you allow SMC cookies to be set, SMC will remember you each time you return. I will point out that some have had issues changing/resetting psswrds in the Discussion Areas; if you experience this, please email me at: jim@soda-machines.com

No problem.. I stuck this topic so that hopefully people can find it if they are experiencing trouble... This was the solution to the log in problems I had...

I had this problem and Jim fixed it as well. Thanks Jim!
As a sidenote, you cannot read that this is a "known issue" unless you are logged in, which...IS the known issue.
It might be helpful to put that and a "mailto" link on the front page of the forum if a member has problem.
Just a suggestion.
I own and run a camping forum, so it can be very frustrating at times.
Thanks!
Mark

Thanks for the info Mark... I thought this forum was visible to everyone... It would be good to put on the front page then..

I thought this forum was visible to guests, in the event a member couldn't get logged into the Discussion Areas, as well. I'll have a look and see... This is a good suggestion! Thanks everyone!

Would it  be Possible to have the people log in to see what's going on
this site  so there not getting the price's on machines that we are looking to sell

or see what we are talking about

or even if we are talking about there machine that may be on ebay or Craigs list.

 Just a thought

Pat the only problem with that is there will be few to no new members. There are sections that are members only. Im sure Jim can add a members only section that is for purchases. If I remember there are even some areas that are open to soda jerks only.

Yeah.. there are a few areas that are only visible to members with a certain number of posts.. You've been a jerk (I mean that in the nicest way of course  ) for so long you don't remember what is super secret. The Who's bidding section is open to members with 100 posts, and there is another section that is open to members with 1000 posts? (I think thats the magic number)

One thing I saw to join a group was a simple box requesting you add two numbers. Kills the bots and if you can't add...
