Post by: on February 01, 2003, 12:12:40 am
WE JUST GOT OURSELVES A BIRELEYS IDEAL 55 SODA MACHINE AND WE WERE WONDERING IF ANYONE CAN FILL US IN ON THE HISTORY OF BIRELEYS SODA. ALSO WE NEED A NEW LID AND NEW CHROME PIECE FOR TOP OF COIN MACHINE. ALSO THIS MIGHT SOUND DUMB BUT WOULD THIS MACHINE BE A WET MACHINE OR DRY MACHINE. ANY INFO WOULD HELP US ALOT. ALSO IS THIS A COLLECTIBLE SODA MACHINE? THANKS

The Ideal 55 is a "Dry" cooler you won't see the cooling coils (evaporator) or a fan because it use's convection cooling (the cooling coils are on the inside of the soad area sandwiched between the inner wall of the liner and the outer shell of the chassis)  if it's an Embossed machine, that is the brand logo is actually empressed into the metal, it's more collectable  than a plain "Generic" decal/labeled machine & Bireleys is a very desirable brand being it's not to common. the top lid I believe is offered by Funtronic's, however the top of the coin tower/mech isn't being reproduce to my knowlage yet, you'll have to get it rechromed. well hope this all helps you out...JohnieG :D  PS PLEASE post a picture to share, that's what this site is all about!
