Title: My take on free vend bracket
Post by: belairbrian on February 16, 2020, 04:40:35 pm
When I went through my machine about 18 months or so ago. ( it's a CSS-8-64), I wanted to switch to free vend. I had always had a box of dimes hanging on the wall and it worked, but wanted to simplify it. I found where people had epoxied a switch to the door, but as I studied it I saw another approach.

I built a bracket to mount a switch using the coin mechanism mount holes. My thinking is since most machines are designed to use multiple coin mechanisms. This could work on multiple machines.

So I came up with this.  Mounts to the upper two coin mechanism screw holes and is actuated by the tab on the coin return lever that hits the return lever on the mechanism.  It uses a Temco CN0102 switch. I was able to find a connector that mated to the female connector and wired the two wires to that. It's a Cinch Jones P-408-DB with the metal shell removed. I also printed a really simple backshell for the connector.

So it's been in service for well over a year and is holding up fine.

Nice, now slap a pair of small strong magnets onto your bracket & now you can place it on just about any machine & any position without drilling holes for screws or bolts ...
